Day 1 Hamner Springs - Murchison
This trek is a great starter with Alpine scenery, lakes, rivers, we go through Jacks Pass, skirting Molesworth Station into Rainbow Station, a side trek to Lake Tennyson then alongside the wild Rainbow and Wairau Rivers to St Arnaud.
Day 2 Murchison – Reefton
Through the beach forests, to the Iron Bridge then cross country over the Mackley River on out to the Denniston Mine which was the backdrop to the story of “Denniston Rose”
Day 3 Reefton – Reefton
West coast weather will determine which of the many and varied treks we take this day including Napoleons Hill where we drive through caves in a stream bed and the Big River Trek with the gold stamper, the amazingly well restored mine head winch shed and the town itself.
Day 4 Reefton – Canterbury High Country
From Reefton to Canterbury High Country Sheep Station via Fox Peak and scenic Lake Brunner, over Arthurs Pass, and into the Alpine scenery of Northwest Canterbury.
Day 5 Canterbury High Country
Spend the day in the foothills of the Southern Alps. Marvel at the irresistible contrast of the West Coast and spend the final night and prize giving on the station.
